Taiwan Trip - Part 2

Day 4

Our breakfast in the morning. Noodles with sliced chicken, soup and Fried oyster.

We went shopping at Ximending, the place we stay at. It's just like bugis street but it's a lot bigger with many more shops and more space to breathe. We kept going back to our hotel because it's really heavy to carry all the shopping bags.

We shopped at Ximending for the whole afternoon but still failed to conquer it. Sob Sob! About 5 hours of shopping. The things at Ximending is slightly more expensive than Wufenpu.

Wanting at the bags shop

We bought a bag each at this shop

We went to this big store about the size of a normal NTUC in Singapore, that sells cosmetics, facial products and many many stuffs. You can see Wanting standing there.

There is a facial booth. Hahaha!

So many masks for me to choose! This is only one section, there is another section of masks too. I bought many back!

Facial and body products

Me and the pink products

The stuffs we bought from this big store. Hair cream, hair-dryer, Hair curler, masks, Fake eye lashes and many more.

A bunch of students promoting some event under the rain. Poor thing.

We had our lunch at this cute restaurant at Ximending. Wanting happily waiting for food to be served!

Our food! Hotpot for each of us!

Me eating my hotpot. Yummy. It's really very SHIOK to eat this when the weather is very cold outside.

In the evening time, we went to Longshan station.

We went to the well-known Temple in Taipei, Long shan Temple just at Longshan station. Wanting went in to pray but I didn't. =) But there are many lanterns display in the temple.

The lanterns at Longshan Temple

Day 5

We went to Kaoshiung. It's another city/state in Taiwan, one of the more popular one just like Taipei.

This is the train we are taking.

Initially we thought the train will be like the MRT type because the previous trains were of that kind. HENG AH! There are proper seats.

Our tickets!

On the train to Kaoshiung. We took Zi Qiang train at 7.30am. It's a 4 hours journey because we wanted to save money. The next time we will just take the high speed train that only takes 1 hour!

Our beautiful legs on display. Heck la! No one is sitting in front!

We finally reached Kaoshiung at 11.30am. The timing is really exact. 4 hours!

Me at Kaoshiung station

Kaoshiung is a lot different from Taipei. Kaoshiung is not very established yet. There isn't any MRT. In fact, it is going to be ready either end of 2008 or 2009. So we took cab everywhere we went.

Wanting and Ronald Macdonald

Me and Ronald Macdonald

we went to the 15 levels of SOGO (department shore)! Amazing that I managed to walk all the way till 15th storey.

We went to the basement for some food. We bought this ice-cream blended with strawberries and Grapes. Yummy!

We had this Korean steamboat for lunch. Mixed meat and seafood.

We don't have to cook it ourselves. cool!!

Yummy! Ready to be eaten.

After Lunch, we went to Dream Mall, the largest shopping mall in Taiwan and also South-east Asia. This mall is a lot more interesting than other shopping malls in Taipei and Kaoshiung.

We also went to Dream Mall's mini themepark, Happy 100 Park on the rooftop. That's the cute direction to the ThemePark.

Me with the Hello Kitty and Friends Ferris Wheel.

Isn't it adorable. This is known as the eye of Kaoshiung. We didn't take this ride because the queue is really long.

Wanting and I

That's me

That's me on the pirate ship with all KIDS! Hahahahaha.

Free Happiness Card for people to write down their wishes and blessings and hang it on the trees. So FUN!! Wanting and I went to write ours!!

Me hanging my Happiness Card. It's a secret. Hehe!! Go Kaoshiung to find out if you want. The next time I come Kaoshiung, I'll try finding it! =)

Wanting and the long stretch of happiness card display

We also took the Boat Ride to go round the whole Love River. It only cost less than S$5 unlike the expensive pricing at Singapore's River. The ride is about 20mins. It was a great timing we took. At the start the sky was still bright and towards the end it became dark. =)

Wanting and I on the boat

Another picture of us

That's me with a lighted up bridge behind me. There are actually many bridges along the Love River. About 3 bridges if I'm not wrong.

We went to look at the lanterns display just along Love River. These lanterns are mostly done by students. They are really impressive! The lanterns are so so beautiful. It's a pity some didn't win any awards.

After the Love River, we went to Liouhe Night Market, the more popular and well-known night market at KaoShiung. There is a lot of food and shopping bazaar there.

We had our dinner at this road-side store at Liouhe Night Market.

That's me waiting for my food to be served.

The food looked simple but it's really delicious. We finished every bit of it.

Wanting at Liouhe Night Market

Me at Liouhe Night Market

After shopping at Liouhe, we bought Macdonalds and brought it up the train. Our train ride is 6 hours this time. It was really tough but we made it through. We reached Taipei at 5.30am.

No more such train rides for me ever again. I will take the Gao Tei Train which is double the price but only 1 hour long.

THE END! enjoy this entry? More to come in part 3. I will wrap everything up in part 3 with Day 6, 7 and 8.
